	Read to a Dog (REGISTRATION REQUIRED) Saturday, May 24th from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Call us at 231-928-0249 to sign up for a time slot. We'll have a furry friend from Geno Dog Adventures for kids to read to at the library! Get some fun, relaxed reading practice and share a story with a dog! For ages 12 and under.
	Sunscreen Day Tuesday, May 27th (All day while supplies last) Come to the library to get a sun survival kit while supplies last! Includes a packet of sunscreen, sunglasses, a sticker, and tips to stay safe in the sun!
	Daniel Clark Presents - Listening to Workers: Oral Histories of Metro Autoworkers in the 1950s Tuesday, May 27th at 7:00 p.m. Using interviews and archival research, Listening to Workers uncovers the personal and often overlooked lives of Detroit-area autoworkers in the 1950s. The book explores the complexities of their experiences, addressing issues like poverty, divorce, workplace dangers, and personal struggles, challenging the notion of the 1950s as a time of widespread prosperity. Offering a humanizing perspective, it presents workers as multidimensional individuals, with rich, personal stories that go beyond traditional labor history.
	Fit for Life Exercise Wednesday, May 28th at 12:00 p.m. Fit for Life is a functional movement class designed to move the whole body through a series of seated and standing exercises that will increase strength, muscular endurance, balance and flexibility. Class is low impact and great for ALL levels of fitness who are interested in working on their health.
	Newaygo County Poetry Event Wednesday, May 28th at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend to hear the poetry of those in our community! You need not have entered the contest to attend. The top poets of each age group will be asked to read their poems, and the winners of each group will be announced.
	Saturday Storytime Saturday, May 31st at 11:00 a.m. For children birth to age 5. Featuring songs, rhymes, lapsits, fingerplays, stories, movies, and crafts. Siblings and parents can share this fun storytime together!

	Dinosaur Day Monday, June 2nd Enjoy dino crafts, dino bath bombs, dino stickers, bookmarks, and tasty dino eggs, all while supplies last!

	An Evening with Author Viola Shipman (Wade Rouse) Wednesday, June 4th at 6:00 p.m. Wade Rouse is the USA TODAY, Publishers Weekly and #1 internationally bestselling author of 20 books, including five memoirs, 12 novels and three holiday novellas. His novels, including The Charm Bracelet, The Hope Chest, The Summer Cottage, and The Heirloom Garden, have been translated into over a dozen languages and become international bestsellers. 2025 will be a big year with three books being published, including his latest Viola Shipman novel, The Page Turner. This new novel celebrates how books and reading change and save us – takes readers inside the world of publishing today and asks why we judge one another and the books we read by our collective covers. Wade chose his grandmother’s name, Viola Shipman, as a pen name to honor the working poor Ozarks seamstress whose sacrifices changed his family’s life and whose memory inspires his fiction. The evening will include a moderated conversation with the author, and Wade will take questions and sign books.
	Domino Club \| Ages 8-13 \| REGISTRATION REQUIRED Thursday, June 5th from 4:00-5:30 p.m. Register by seeing the Children’s Desk or call 231-928-0249. Join this new club for tweens to have fun with domino set up and toppling. Eat pizza and snacks while we watch some YouTube domino videos, and then work on your own skills! Meets in the Community Room.
	Children's Summer Reading Kickoff Friday, June 6th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sign up for Summer Reading, make some summer crafts, play games, and get a temporary tattoo! In the Children's Department.
	Teen Summer Reading Kickoff Friday, June 6th from 1:00-3:45 p.m. Sign up for Summer Reading, eat snacks, and watch The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (PG-13; 2 hr 45 min) in our teen area.
	Movie Monday Monday, June 9th at 2:00 p.m. Free movie and snacks in the Community Room. A young boy with both a rare brittle-bone disease and autism transforms everyone around him with his joyous, funny, and life-affirming world view. (PG; 1 hr 49 min)
	Paint a Cupcake Box \| Ages 4-12 \| REGISTRATION REQUIRED Tuesday, June 10th at 10:00 a.m. Kids will paint a ceramic cupcake box. The box will be dried and fired at NCCA-Artsplace and will be available for pickup at the library by June 16th. Register by calling 231-928-0249.
	Truth Be Told Book Group Tuesday, June 10th at 4:00 p.m. Join us for Truth Be Told, our new non-fiction book group! Our next book is Killing the Witches by Bill O'Reilly, and there are copies available at our front desk to check out. We'll meet by the south fireplace to discuss, and please feel free to come even if you haven't read the book yet! New patrons always welcome. For more info, email edekkinga@fremontlibrary.net.
	Blades of the Caribbean Pirate Tuesday, June 10th at 6:30 p.m. \| All Ages Swashbuckling Pirates and Cutlass-Wielding Buccaneers were more than just mindless brutes! The stories of the varieties of blades and how they were used is a perfect match to explain the history of the Pirates in the New World! Join Swordsmanship Museum and Academy Historian, Jerry Berg, as he takes us through the story of piracy by sharing and demonstrating the wide variety of blades and techniques used by these sea dogs! Many artifacts from the Museum Collection will be on display and incorporated into this presentation!

	Archery Tag \| Ages 11-19 Thursday, June 19th at 6:30 p.m. Meet outside the library for some fun archery tag! Families are welcome to watch.
	Discovery Tuesday: Jenifer Strauss Tuesday, June 24th at 10:00 a.m. Meet a singing snake, dance with Pete the Cat and his new shoes, then sing and paint a rainbow!
	Books & Bites Book Group Wednesday, June 25th at 10:00 a.m. Enjoy a morning feast of literature and pastries. This book group combines the joy of reading with the delight of indulging in breakfast treats, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere for book lovers and food enthusiasts alike. 	Elephant & Piggie Family Storytime \| Ages 0-5 Wednesday, June 25th at 10:00 a.m. This Elephant & Piggie-themed Family Storytime will include a special appearance from Elephant & Piggie! Afterward, stay and enjoy our Library's 25th Anniversary Party!
	Library's 25th Anniversary Party Wednesday, June 25th Elephant & Piggie will be here for a Meet & Greet from 11:00-12:00, everyone is welcome to enjoy free Jams froyo (while supplies last) from 11:00-1:00, plus we'll have a scavenger hunt for a prize and more fun all day!
