Non-Profit Resources

The Fremont Area District Library (FADL) sponsors the Foundation Center's Funding Information Network.

As a member of this nationwide network, FADL provides free public access to:

  • Grantmaker directories
  • Books on fundraising and nonprofit management
  • In-library access to the Foundation Center’s electronic databases:

Foundation Directory Online

Foundation Directory Online Professional provides access to essential facts on grantmakers and their funding activities worldwide. To pinpoint prospective funders, explore four comprehensive databases: Grantmakers, Companies, Grants, and 990s. With geographic search tools, you can zoom in on regional and local grantmakers or grants by state, county, city, metro area, congressional district and ZIP code. Choose from over 1,100 indexed search terms or keyword-search. Interactive maps and charts show a funder's giving trends, and you can click through to see recipient lists and grant details.

Foundation Grants to Individuals Online

Foundation Grants to Individuals is an online database of nearly 10,000 foundation and public charity programs that fund students, artists, researchers, and other individual grantseekers.

Foundation Maps

Foundation Maps is the Foundation Center’s premier data visualization tool and the easiest way to see who is funding what and where around the world. Access to comprehensive funding data — and ways to make sense of that information — is essential to understanding the field of philanthropy, an organization’s own place within it, and new opportunities to make a difference. With millions of grants from 2006 to the present, innovative ways to visualize funding data, and the flexibility and precision to tailor research, Foundation Maps helps funders and nonprofits access the knowledge they need to make strategic decisions and strengthen their impact.
