Library Opening Guidelines

Provides info on our current stage of reopening during Covid-19 including guidelines and current services offered.

We will open with Stage 2: Takeout & Library Partially Open beginning Wednesday, June 24th with our regularly scheduled hours!

We are committed to the safety of our staff and patrons. To that end, here are some of the procedures and guidelines that will be in place for our reopening:

-Masks required. Disposable masks will be available.
-We ask that patrons do not loiter in the library for longer than necessary.
-Please DO NOT come in if you are sick.
-Social distancing guidelines will be enforced--seating and computers have been rearranged.
-Our door facing Main Street will be LOCKED--please enter through the automatic doors that face the parking lot.
-Staff will be regularly cleaning frequently touched surfaces.
-Toys have been removed from the children's area.
-Hand sanitizer will be available at every staff desk.
-Please DO NOT drop off children under the age of 10 without an adult.
-A version of Curbside Pickup (now TAKEOUT) will still be available for high-risk patrons. Curbside Pickup will change to takeout beginning June 24th. Please call to arrange for takeout at the front desk. See more info below on takeout.
-Our local history room and Friends Gift Shop will be closed.
-Study rooms will be unavailable.
-All incoming materials and returns are being quarantined for 4 days before becoming available for the next patron.

Takeout hours:
Mon, Tue, Thur: 10am-1pm, 2pm-6:30pm
Wed, Fri: 10am-1pm, 2pm-4:30pm
No takeout Saturday or Sunday

1. Call the library to request takeout
 - You can check our website at to determine if the item(s) you want are currently available at our library or you can ask when you call.
- Please have your library card ready so you can tell us your library card number
- Curbside pickup will be limited to 10 items per phone call - have your list of items/authors ready
- Telephone numbers for takeout:
- If the majority of your items will be adult fiction, young adult, or non-fiction, please call (231) 928-0256
- If the majority of your items will be DVDs please call: (231) 928-0240
- If the majority of your items will be audiobooks or large print please call: (231) 928-0253
- If the majority of your items will be children's please call: (231) 928-0249
- If you receive our answering machine, please leave a message with your name and phone number and we'll call you back.

2. Let library staff know what time you would like to pick up your materials.
- Staff will place your items in a bag labeled with your last name and time of pickup. Your bag will be at the front desk inside the library.

3. Let the library staff know if it will be you or someone else picking up your items

4. Please make sure you have your library card or ID when you come to pick up your items

Here are a few reminders for everyone:
