Emersyn wins prize

Teen Finale

Alivia wins prize

In this year’s Summer Reading Program, we all learned just how much “Libraries Rock!” The youngsters had an eventful summer participating in this theme with 1,514 people attending 31 programs! As part of our activities, we learned about both physical rocks and rock music. We cracked open geodes, met birds of prey, and enjoyed a concert. We even got to learn about dinosaurs, meet the Police & Fire Departments, and got a dance lesson from the Letha Fulton School of Dance! 458 children registered for the Summer Reading Program, and many of them finished and won prizes, including pizza and new books.

57 teens joined us for some great craft and movie programs, along with a new escape room, video game, and glow party events! 54 readers signed up for the program, 24 teens completed their reading logs, and 5 more partially completed their logs. Many teens read well beyond the minimum, including one who read over 200 hours. Prize winners this year were: Emily J. - $50 Visa gift card; Kaxton L. – 32 G flash drive; Crista H. – a summer fun pack; and Mackenzie B. - $25 Joan & Company gift card and goody bag.

A new record-setting 113 adults accepted the challenge of reading 10 books this year! 52 people completed their logs and were eligible for the grand prize drawing. 56 others partially completed the program, winning free ice cream from the Koffee Kuppe. Thanks to our many awesome sponsors this year, we had a lot of great prizes to give out! Prize winners this year were: Marilyn G. - $30 Visa gift card; Tina B. - $20 Barnes & Noble gift card; Jan A. - $50 Newaygo County Artsplace gift card; Ronda H. - $40 Pampered Pets gift card; LeeAnn B., Lori Z., and Andrea B. - $25 Joan & Company gift cards; Candee P. - $10 Blind Squirrel Tavern gift card; and Neal A. – travel CD organizer.

Congratulations to our winners and thank you to our business and volunteer supporters, and everyone who participated this summer!
