Winners will have a book of poems added to the library in their honor.  Winning poems will be displayed in the library and on the library web page.

Criteria:

All judging is blind and the decision of the judges is final. Entries are judged on the originality and the quality of the work.

Deadline:

April 30, 2007

Entry Guidelines:

• There are two ways to submit -- by email or in person.  Email entries to fadl@fremontlibrary.net with Poetry Contest in the subject line of the email.
• Poems may be of any subject matter, type or style. Entries must be original, unpublished and free from profanity.
• Length of each entry must not exceed 30 written lines.  An individual may not submit more than 3 entries.
• All entries must be typed, single-sided, on plain 8 1/2" x 11" paper.  If poems continue onto two pages, these should be numbered.  The title should appear at the top of each page.
• Send two copies of each poem, one with complete author information (including name, address, and e-mail where applicable), and one blind (no author information).
• Entries will not be returned.
• Winners will be announced May 16, 2007.  Winning poems will be on display until June 1, 2007.
