A one county one book program sponsored by the
Fremont Area Community Foundation and the libraries of Newaygo
County.

Barbara Kingsolver’s “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle”
has been chosen as the inaugural book for the Newaygo County Reads
project. The goal of this project is to promote dialog among
individuals and communities through the reading and discussion of a
common book.
Part memoir, part journalistic investigation, this
book tells the story of how the Kingsolver family was changed
forever by one year of deliberately eating food produced in the
place where they live. Told in Kingsolver’s engaging style, this
book is a joy to read!
Newaygo County Reads is a collaborative project of
the five libraries within Newaygo County. (the Fremont Area District
Library, the Grant Area District Library, the Hesperia Community
Library, the Newaygo Area District Library and the White Cloud
Community Library) It is funded by a grant from the Fremont Area
Community Foundation and the Michigan Center for the Book.
