Searching for an Author

  1. Choose Author from the Drop Down Menu.

  2. Type the author’s name in the Search box. Last name, first name (Clancy, Tom)

  3. Click on Go.

  4. Look through titles to find the one that you want.

  5. Click on it.

 Searching for a Title

  1. Choose Title from the Drop Down Menu.

  2. Type the title of the book, video or album. You may leave out leading a’s, an’s and the’s.

  3. Click on Go.

  4. Look through the titles to find the one that you want.

  5. Click on it.

 Searching for a Subject

  1. Click on Subject in the Drop Down Menu.

  2. Type the subject you want to search for.

  3. Click on Go.

  4. Click on the Subject that best fits what you are looking for.

  5. Click on the title that interests you.

Searching by using Keywords

  1. Click on Keyword Search.

  2. Type the words that you want to search for.

  3. You can limit the search to a specific location or material type (ie. Videos at Fremont Area District Library.)

  4. Click on Search

How to place a Hold or Request an item. Place a hold

  1. Find the item that you want.

  2. Click on Place Hold.

  3. Enter your barcode from your library card.

  4. Enter your PIN – last 4 digits of your phone number.

  5. Choose a pickup location from the drop-down menu.

  6. Click Submit Above Information.

The computer will tell you if the request has been placed successfully You may not be able to place a hold if you have any outstanding fines.

 

Using the Book Cart

  1. Find the item that you want.

  2. Click on the Book Cart button to the left of the title or the Add to Cart button at the top of your screen.

  3. Continue searching, adding more items as needed.

Placing Holds on Items in the Book Cart

  1. Once you have items in the cart, click on the Book Cart button at the top of the screen.

  2. Click on the Multiple Holds button on the bottom of the screen.

  3. Enter your library card barcode number and your PIN.

  4. Choose a pickup location.

  5. To place holds on all the items, click the Request All button.

  6. If you would like to place holds on only some of the items, select the items you want to include by clicking on the check box in front of the title, then click the Request Selected button.

  7. Another window will pop up informing you of which holds were placed successfully.

**The book cart will only keep records for about 30 minutes.  It may empty the cart after that.

**Your are only allowed to have 10 items on hold at a time. 

Patron information

  1. From the Fremont Library's web page, choose Card Catalog from the menu on the left. 

  2. Click View Your Record.

  3. Enter your Library Card Barcode, and PIN (last 4 digits of your phone number).

  4. Click button that says Display Record for Person Named Above.

  5. You should then see your name, address and phone number on the left side of the screen.

What do I have on hold?

  1. Click on Requests (Holds) Outstanding.

  2. This will show you what you have requested and whether it is on its way.

    1. ON SHELF means that the item you have requested is available at another library, but is not on its way yet. Please call us if it stays this way for over a week.

    2. IN TRANSIT means that the item you requested is on its way and will be here in a couple days. Someone from the library will call or email you when it arrives.

    3. READY FOR PICKUP means that the item is at the library and available for you to pickup.

What do I have checked out?

  1. Click on Items Currently Checked Out.

  2. This will list all the items you have checked out.

  3. You can sort the list by due date by clicking the button that says “Sort by Due Date.”

 How do I Renew a book?  

See Patron Information above, to View your record.

            To Renew everything you have checked out:

   1.      Click on the button that says Renew All.
   2.      If an item cannot be renewed, a message will be displayed.
   3.      For items that have been renewed, there will be a note in the due date column showing that the item has been renewed and the new due date.

             To Renew some of the items that you have checked out:

    1. Click on the box to the left of the items you would like to renew.

    2. Click on the button that says Renew Selected Items.

    3. If an item cannot be renewed, a message will be displayed.

    4. For items that have been renewed, there will be a note in the due date column showing that the item has been renewed and the new due date.
